We understand that our virtual learners often wish to take a break from their studies to focus on the festivities of Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter. However, we believe these seasons can become opportunities to learn by exploring their history and reflecting on the values they represent.

For a few weeks in December, we encourage online learners to set aside their regular Instructor’s Guide and focus on the meaning behind the celebrations.  

Some students may still wish to continue with core subjects like math and phonics, but you can replace standard history and science lessons with Advent-themed literature and art projects.  

2. Focus on Giving First
